The Iraq war is very, very far away for most people. With the volunteer Army, only a handful of Americans actually know a soldier who has gone there. We are deprived of the stories of what it’s really like on the ground, making due with Hollywood depiction of the war and a handful of poorly attended documentaries.
That’s all changed today with Brave New Foundation’s Internet series, debuting today. In Their Boots features stories from servicemen and women who had been there. The first show debut today, Wed. July 2, at 4 pm Pacific time on the site. What makes this show unique is that it is live, coming from the organization’s modest studio in Culver City, CA. A new episode will appear every week on Wed., 4 pm PT.
